Royal Wootton Bassett's premium strength and conditioning gym

Built on purpose. Built for life.

Atlas is a premium strength and conditioning facility in Royal Wootton Bassett. Everything here has been chosen, designed, and staffed with one goal in mind: to help you become a stronger, more capable version of yourself. This is what we built, and why.

Our story

Where the idea of a better gym became a reality

Atlas began with a simple frustration: the best gyms in the UK weren't good enough. Not in terms of equipment, support, or environment. So we set about building something better.

Twelve months of research took us across Europe and to FIBO in Cologne, one of the largest fitness trade events in the world, where our founder met senior executives from Arsenal Strength, Rogers Athletic, and other leading brands. We visited Panatta's headquarters in Italy, met the Watson team in Frome, and studied the facilities that serious lifters actively travel to train in.

Every decision at Atlas has been made on purpose. The result is a strength-led facility built around the world's best machines, staffed by people who are genuinely here to help, and rooted in a community that values progress over performance.

The spacE

Two floors. Every detail considered.

Atlas is 9,000 square feet across two floors, with parking on-site and full staffing throughout. From the moment you arrive, the experience is designed to feel welcoming rather than overwhelming.

You'll enter through reception into our retail area, where you can grab a hot drink, pick up a prepared meal, choose from a range of pre and post-workout supplements, or browse our merchandise. Small lockers are available here too, so if you'd prefer to head straight to the gym floor without using the changing rooms, you can.

Both floors are fully staffed throughout the day. Our team are here for you: to answer questions, guide you through movements, and support your progress. They are not occupied with paying clients. Approach them freely.

technique floor

The Technique Floor is upstairs: spacious, confidence-building, and equipped with pin-selected machines, cardio with multimedia streaming, and a turfed HIIT area. A dedicated glute zone covers abduction and adduction, hip extension, and hip thrust movements. Saunas are available in both changing rooms. It's where you learn, refine, and build capability.

performance floor

Downstairs is where intent meets load. Heavy free weights and plate-loaded machines sit across four rows of world-class equipment. The free-weight zone is deliberately positioned away from reception. New members should feel welcomed, not intimidated, and the layout reflects that. A walkway from reception guides you through the floor at your own pace.

The Equipment

The best machine for every movement, from the best brands in the world

Most gyms buy from one or two suppliers. Some invest in premium brands. Very few ask which brand makes the absolute best version of each individual machine.

We did. And the answer was never the same brand twice.

After twelve months of hands-on research across Europe and the US, visiting showrooms, testing machines, and studying the facilities that top athletes and serious lifters seek out, we arrived at a clear conclusion: the best gym in the world would need the best machines from across the world. Not a full range from one manufacturer. The best of each, from all of them.

That's what Atlas has. The best leg press. The best hack squat. The best seated row. The best belt squat. Every machine selected because it outperforms the alternatives in adjustability, range of motion, and suitability for every body type. Whether you're 5ft 2 or 6ft 4, a beginner or a competitive lifter, every machine here will work for you.

You won't find banks of identical cable machines or rows of the same lat pulldown. Instead, you'll find four completely different pulling machines, each offering a distinct angle, movement pattern, and stimulus. That approach runs through every muscle group, on both floors.

For variation and quality, we don't believe another gym in the UK matches this setup. People travel for it. We think you'll understand why when you see it.

World-class equipment

Six of the world's best brands, chosen for a reason

Each brand at Atlas has been selected because it is genuinely the best at what it does. Not well-known. Not widely stocked. The best. Here is why each one is here.

Panatta

Designed and manufactured in Italy, Panatta has grown considerably in the UK through social media influence and a growing reputation among serious lifters. Their pin-selected machines are premium in finish, beginner-friendly in design, and feature foot assists that allow a full stretch and exceptional range of motion. The nearest Panatta-equipped gym to us was in Milton Keynes. We thought that needed to change.

Prime USA

Prime machines are built around adjustable cams and torque arms, allowing you to place the resistance exactly where you want it within the movement. Every machine is fully adjustable for height and range of motion, making them exceptional for bodybuilding, rehabilitation, and everything in between. For serious pressing and pulling work, Prime is among the best in the world.

Watson

Watson manufacture what many consider to be the world's best dumbbells. They are made in Frome, Somerset, less than an hour from Atlas. We visited their facility during the research process and the quality speaks for itself. Watson also created a bespoke height adjuster for their standing leg curl at our request, ensuring it suits lifters of every height. That is the level of craft this brand operates at.

Atlantis

Atlantis machines are known for their heavy weight stacks, compact footprints, and exceptional build quality. Their hip and glute machines are particularly strong, with weight stacks capable of challenging even the most advanced athletes. The Atlantis French Press Machine, launched in 2024, is among the newest pieces in our collection.

Arsenal Strength

Arsenal produces some of the best plate-loaded machines available anywhere. Their leg press is, in our view, the finest on the market. Alongside Atlantis and Prime, Arsenal's pressing machines give members multiple options for every major movement pattern, ensuring that if one machine doesn't suit your body, another will.

Rogers Athletic

Rogers Athletic is an American manufacturer with a heritage stretching back to 1968, and the company behind one of the most respected pieces of equipment in any serious strength facility: the Pit Shark belt squat. The Pit Shark allows you to perform heavy lower body strength training while completely de-loading the spine, removing the risk of spinal compression and making it one of the safest and most effective squat variations available. It goes far beyond a single movement too, allowing squats, dips, chins, pulling movements, calf raises and more. For members looking to train hard without placing unnecessary stress on the back, it is an invaluable addition to the floor.

Newtech

Founded in South Korea in 2011, Newtech Wellness has built a reputation for biomechanically precise, smooth-motion strength machines designed for elite athletes and everyday lifters alike. The equipment is known for its silky smooth movement patterns, extensive adjustability, and multiple grip and foot positions to accommodate lifters of all sizes. Newtech's connection to the sport runs deep: they serve as primary title sponsors of Mr. Olympia, the most prestigious bodybuilding competition in the world. A brand that serious lifters seek out and beginners immediately benefit from.
